Rock and roll fans first got to know Brenda and Eddie back
in 1977, when a talented piano man from Long Island named
Billy Joel introduced the high school sweethearts in the
song "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant" on his
breakthrough album The Stranger.
Now Brenda
and Eddie are on Broadway, along with a bunch of their
friends, in the Tony-winning musical Movin' Out. "Scenes
From An Italian Restaurant" as well as the complete
songbook of five-time Grammy winner Joel, which features
countless story-driven songs, inspired modern dance maestro
Twyla Tharp. With Joel's blessing, Tharp created her own
story around the songs--of two turbulent American decades
for a group of lifelong friends--and brought it to the
Broadway stage to critical hosannas.
Both
Joel and Tharp won 2003 Tony Awards for their work on
Movin' Out, which has become a favorite for both fans
of dance and rock and roll in New York City and across
the country thanks to a highly-successful national tour.
Featuring
a remarkable cast of 27 and 24 Billy Joel classics played
by an electrifying onstage band, this unique musical takes
us back to a time we all remember, to the days when almost
anything could happen, to the nights when almost everything
did.
